"Why'd you think I'm here and not one of the servers." He pulled up a chair instead from an unused table. "I just want to see for myself the sort of fella Sonya would bring for a visit. Usually it's one of the officers on her squad."

Manners not entirely played out here, Sonya took a few bites from her burger, still keeping an eye on them.

"Because there's this funny thing called fraternization that the army tends to frown on," She said, once having swallowed. "The two of us met at the clinic, and it's nice to talk with someone who's proper educated.."

This was sort of the truth. Athelstan was educated and they did meet at the clinic, just not for the first time and not on a military hospital.
