While her health and stamina were above average for most women her age (and then there was the tomb Johnny found), the fact was she may've still had only a few years left where she could have kids. Having Cassie as a 'spare' would've been a safer bet incase she never had one from Kotal; that said heir was from an ancient blood line and strong enough to defeat a fallen god, Sonya had a feeling there were also going to be bragging rights involved.
